Debbie Moor receives Golden Apple Award
Commerce Elementary custodian, Debbie Moor, received a Golden Apple Award at the February 1, 2024 Board of Education meeting.
Moor was nominated by Kristen Gauthier, who’s a kindergarten teacher at Commerce Elementary, because she says Moor is an important part of the Cougar family.
“Debbie is always wiling to help anyone in need and works diligently to ensure that our school is safe and clean,” said Gauthier. “She works extra shifts on her own so that the job gets done to her standards.”
Moor always has a positive attitude and leads by example. She works tirelessly, yet makes time when called upon. Moor is never idle. She has great relationships with the staff and students at Commerce Elementary. Moor is well respected for her work ethic and is always smiling and professional. She takes pride in doing a good job and is not satisfied with anything less.
“Debbie is an exemplary employee and a valued part of our Commerce family,” said Commerce Elementary principal Ryan West. “Every day, she greets us with a smile and takes the initiative to do what is needed to support the staff, students, and community.”
“In the few months that I have known Debbie, it is evident that she takes pride in her job, often anticipating requests and questions, and addresses them before they arise,” added West. “Quite possibly, her best quality is the ability to connect with our students, build relationships, and foster a warm, welcoming school community. She helps make our school an exceptional place for students to learn and grow each day, and we feel incredibly lucky for Debbie’s commitment to Commerce Elementary.”
