Meet the Principal
Dear Commerce Elementary Families,
I am delighted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new principal of Commerce Elementary. It is an honor to join the Commerce community and embark on a journey of learning, growth and excellence alongside your children.
This fall started my 11th year as an elementary administrator and my 21st year of working in public education. I am committed to fostering an environment where every student feels valued, supported and empowered to reach their full potential. Together with our amazing staff, I look forward to supporting a safe, nurturing environment at Commerce Elementary while continuing to strive for academic excellence.
In addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a father and husband. My wife Jennifer and I have three amazing boys, Jackson (14) a freshman at Walled Lake Northern, Zachary (11) a sixth grade student at Clifford Smart MS and Landon (7) a third grader at West Maple Elementary where my wife teaches second grade. When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family hiking, boating and supporting my children in their multiple sports related activities.
Open communication and collaboration with parents and guardians is very important to me. Living in Walled Lake, I understand and value the connection between the school and the community. I encourage you to share your thoughts, ideas and aspirations for our school community. It is my goal to have the community be an extension of the school working together to shape the educational experience for your children.
I am eager to meet all of the students and get to know your families. Over the next few months I know there will be many opportunities where we can connect and get to know each other better. With that in mind, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or simply wish to say hello.
Together, we will continue to cultivate an environment where curiosity, creativity, and compassion thrive. I look forward to supporting the students and staff to make Commerce Elementary the best place it can be.
Go Cougars!
